Before going to the vaccination center:
- Good Hygiene Practices to reduce the spread of infectious illnesses.
- Discuss with the doctor the health status of the child: a history of illness, malnutrition (if any) to review and decide whether or not to vaccinate the child.
- Bring a vaccination book or slip to the doctor to consult and make sure the child is vaccinated on schedule.
- Make notes about the medications your child is using, the vaccines or foods that he has had a previous allergy to.
Some cases of contraindication to vaccination for children:
- Children with impaired function of respiratory organs, circulation, heart failure, kidney failure, liver failure ...
- Children with a history of shock or severe reaction following immunization.
- Immunocompromised children are contraindicated to vaccinate live vaccines.
- Other contraindications follow the manufacturer's instructions for each vaccine.
Postponing vaccination
- Measure the temperature in armpits, body temperature is over 37.5 degrees Celsius or below 35.5 degrees Celsius.
- Children with acute bacterial infections.
- Your child is or has just finished a high dose of corticosteroid within 14 days.
- New children using immunoglobulin products.
- Newborns weighing less than 2kg.
- Other cases of postponement of vaccination follow the manufacturer's instructions for each vaccine.
